Robert is a lifelong resident of Hidalgo County. Mr. De Leon currently resides in Hargill, Texas with his wife where he has raised his four children.
Education and Experience
Mr. De Leon is a graduate from Edinburg High School, there after he worked in the Oil Field Industry for 7 years, he then decided to further his career by accepting a position with the Texas Department of Transportation where he worked for 10 years. While working with TxDot, Robert acquired a vast amount of knowledge and experience of our County’s Infrastructure and gaining experience managing and supervising different departments. This led Mr. De Leon to his current employment with Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1. Mr. De Leon Started his employment with HCDD1 as Supervisor where demonstrated his abilities and knowledge and earning a promotion to Field Operations Director.
Mission
As Field Operations Director, Mr. De Leon works closely with engineers and other government entities to plan and coordinate maintenance and construction projects for the District. Mr. De Leon also interacts with property and business owners on many levels, which include flooding or maintenance concerns they might have. Robert has severed the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 for 23 years.
